Packing shares this morning

Thanks for your orders. Jenny (our new helper) and I have been harvesting as quickly as possible before the rain for this week's pick up. Don't
give it a second thought that I haven't confirmed your request, just expect it to be ready for you when you come anytime after 1pm on Wednesday through Saturday by 2pm.

Your share should contain: Romaine lettuce, Gourmet mixed lettuce, small red radishes, Swiss chard, baby mustard greens tinged with a little heat, a few green onions.

If you are finding too much lettuce in your fridge these days try juicing it; 2 cups torn lettuce, 1 cup frozen peaches, 1/2 cup ice, 3/4 cup water. Add some honey or other sweetener if you find it's not sweet enough. It's a great detox drink that satisfies especially on the go.

Gravel Knolls Swiss Chard Quiche
I use a rolled biscuit crust washed with egg whites for this recipe, pie crust works well too.

2 cups scalded milk, cooled
3 farm, fresh eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
dash fresh grated nutmeg
1/2 cup assiago cheese, grated
1 cup coarse chopped chard
1/2 cup coarse chopped onion
While scaled milk is cooling saute onions until translucent add chard until wilted.
Combine all ingredients and pour over crust in a pie pan.
Bake @ 375 for 35-40 minutes.

For your mustard greens try using them in place of basil in your favorite pesto recipe and mix into a pasta dish.
