Gravel Knolls Farm

My friend and CSA member shared this recipe with me. It's a great way to enjoy the abundant weed crop of chickweed.  Give it a try
 Chickweed Sandwich Salsa

1 packed cup never chemically sprayed chickweed with flowers, fine chopped
4-5 garlic cloves, minced
3 Tbsp shallots or onions, minced
4 tbsp sweet bell pepper, minced
2 tbsp semi hot peppers, minced or coarse ground if dried
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt

Try it on a cracker. Mix in some olives.

Love to hear what you think about this recipe.

We are getting ready to plant potatoes tomorrow!! Five of the boxes in the front field beside Cinti.-Dayton Rd. have carrots coming up. Today we transplanted 325 feet of Swiss chard, seeded three varieties of radish. Last week we transplanted over 2900 lettuce plants, Red Oak, Paris Island Romaine, Iceburg, and something else I can't recall at this late hour. The boys planted green onions last week but today I watched them get half way tilled out because I didn't mark the rows. That is no fun to watch.

Thanks for reading,
Linda
