Traveling back to North Dakota this week...

Hi CSA members,

I have had another loss in the family.
My dad passed away Monday and I will be traveling to see family later this week. So with a little help from The Feed Barn employees you are on your own for harvesting your share again this week. We did get a very nice rain here in West Chester and I expect the crops will perk up.

Check at the counter in The Feed Barn for a report on the picking and a map if you did not make it last week.

I do have a few, frozen, whole chickens in the freezer from our last processing date if you are interested. Raised on the farm on grass between the pumpkin rows. My wonderful store help will be more than happy to fetch them from the deep freeze for you to purchase. Don't forget eggs too.

If you get into the slicing cucumber patch pick some for this recipe...

Cold Cucumber Soup
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 tsp dillweed
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp celery salt
1Tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp pepper
3/4 tsp salt
2 green onions, coarsely chopped
3 medium cucumbers, peeled, seeded, and coarsely chopped

Combine all ingredients in container of electric blender; process until
smooth. Chill thoroughly,
Yields: 21/2-3 cups.
